HOW10: In The Bag

In short: monster fun.

My American opponent gave up in German Turn 4. His plan of attack had gone
seriously awry ... and on top of that, his dice were shocking and mine were
hot, hot, hot. Panthers with ROF! On multiple occasions! An 8-0 German
leader operating a radio while under fire from about 10 different tanks and
halftracks -- net result: he battle-hardened and went heroic. A 5-4-8 who
went Fanatic, generated a hero and between them eliminated about
half-a-dozen US hts & tanks -- including one ht flamed by a LMG. A SiG who
got 150mm HEAT to knock out a Sherman about twenty-five hexes away. And
more! More malfunctioned MAs and AAMGs than you can poke a stick at.
Almost every OT vehicle (and a few that weren't) had a Stun marker!

It wasn't all bad news for the US. A Bounding Firing ht (with only a MMG,
no less) flamed the SiG. His planes eliminated three out of five Panthers.
His Sniper sent one of my FlaK vehicles home by Stunning him twice. A
German leader and squad routed through German OBA (no choice, alas) and got
an OBA CH for their pains. My PaK 40 was totally misplaced and never had a
chance of getting involved in the battle. Almost all of the German
infantry, with the exception of those units mentioned above, broke every
time the US even looked at them. And on it went ....

And meanwhile, burning wrecks ALL over the map, woods and buildings set on
fire by OBA, scattered pieces of equipment lying all over the board.

Yowsa. Not for the faint-of-heart, but a truly excellent scenario for
demonstrating the tremendous firepower of a US Armored Division, and an
excellent opportunity to practice your combined arms tactics. Highly
recommended.
